Lozionica Launches the First Regional Songwriting Hub

Modern equipment and instruments make this space a unique place for the professional development of young lyricists, authors, singer-songwriters, producers, composers

The “Western Balkans Songwriting Hub” – a regional center dedicated to the development of young authors, musicians, and producers – has been opened in Lozionica, the center of creative industries and innovation.

The Hub is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for the creation and production of music, making it a unique space for the professional development of musical talents. The equipment and infrastructure will be available to musicians and young professionals free of charge, with prior reservation of a slot, starting from December 1, 2025.

The director of Lozionica and head of the national platform Serbia Creates, Ana Ilić, emphasizes that this project is yet another strong example of the regional cooperation that has been established.

After the first Songwriting Hub was launched in Banja Luka, the opening of the second one in Belgrade further strengthens the creative bridge we are building across the region. While we were developing the vision of Lozionica, we envisioned precisely such projects – those that empower, educate, connect, and support the creative sector. Lozionica was created to be a home of ideas, innovation, and artistic collaboration, and today we can see that vision coming to life. .”

She adds that many projects come and go, but that this project is different, since even after its completion the full equipment, instruments, and infrastructure of the Songwriting Hub will remain in Lozionica as a permanent legacy, available to artists and creators even after the project ends.

The space will be available to all interested lyricists, composers, singer-songwriters, producers, and other music creators every working day from 12 PM to 8 PM, with mandatory prior registration and reservation of a slot.

In the next three months, within the project, numerous activities will be carried out, including:

  • Mentorship programs with producers and authors from the region – through workshops on lyric writing, composing, production, and post-production.

  • An educational segment dedicated to topics such as: the DIY approach, marketing and promotion in the music industry, artificial intelligence in music, copyright and related rights, tour planning, and other key aspects of the music industry.

At the end of the program, a concert will be organized where participants will have the opportunity to present new songs created during their stay in the Hub, and the best will receive additional visibility and promotion.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the City of Banja Luka, the Serbia Creates platform, with the support of the European Union and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
