LOŽIONICA AND ARC PRESENTS: THE MAN BEHIND THE MUSICAL IDENTITY OF BREAKING BAD AND BETTER CALL SAUL IS COMING TO LOŽIONICA

Hollywood music supervisor Thomas Golubić, a five-time Emmy nominee, will deliver an exclusive seminar at Ložionica on September 8, 2026.

Why do some scenes stay with us long after the dialogue has faded? How does the perfect fusion of image and music come to life? How does a single song become part of a television series’ identity, and what is it like to collaborate with the creators of acclaimed shows such as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul?

Belgrade audiences will have the opportunity to hear the answers first-hand.

One of the world’s most acclaimed music supervisors, Thomas Golubić—the creative force behind the musical identity of some of the most influential television productions of the past two decades, including Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Pluribus, Silo, Poker Face, The Walking Dead, Six Feet Under, and Halt and Catch Fire—is coming to Belgrade. On September 8, 2026, at 6 PM, he will deliver an exclusive seminar at Ložionica, followed by Q&A session.

Thomas Golubić’s visit is organized by Ložionica in partnership with the American Resource Center (ARC).

This is a unique opportunity for filmmakers, composers, producers, directors, students, musicians, and film enthusiasts to go behind the scenes of major Hollywood productions and gain insight into a creative process that audiences rarely get to witness.

During the seminar, Golubić will discuss his collaboration with directors and writers, how the musical identity of a television series is developed, how the right song is discovered to best serve the story, the importance of understanding a character’s psychology when selecting music, and how music can fundamentally transform the meaning and emotional impact of a scene.

Speaking about his work, Golubić often emphasizes that music is not merely an accompaniment to the image, but an equal storytelling partner. As he puts it:

“The job of a music supervisor isn’t to find the best piece of music—it’s to find the one that tells the story most truthfully. Music supervision isn’t about the fidelity of the music, it’s the fidelity of the storytelling.”

A five-time Emmy Award nominee, two-time Grammy Award nominee, and former President of the Guild of Music Supervisors, Thomas Golubić is widely recognized as one of the professionals who redefined the role of music in contemporary television and film.

His work has helped create some of the most memorable scenes in modern television, demonstrating that music is not simply background, but one of the essential elements of cinematic storytelling.

“I am very much looking forward to my short visit to Belgrade this September. The prospect of inspiring and educating the next generation of Serbian filmmakers is an exciting proposition. I can’t wait to share what I know with the audience at Ložionica!” said Golubić, inviting everyone interested to register and join the seminar.

The seminar at Ložionica is open to anyone interested in discovering how unforgettable cinematic moments are created, how the creative process works behind the world’s leading productions, and why the right piece of music can be just as important as the screenplay or the performance.

Admission is free, but registration is required due to limited capacity till August 25.
