IAMIC Conference for the First Time in Serbia: Ložionica hosted Delegates from 19 Member Countries

Korea

As part of the preopening phase of Ložionica, the future hub for creative and cultural industries in Belgrade, the city hosted the IAMIC Conference (International Association of Music Information Centres) for the first time in Serbia. Organized by the Music Information Centre of Serbia, in partnership with the World Music Association of Serbia and the national platform Serbia Creates, the multi-day event brought together representatives from 19 IAMIC member countries.

IAMIC is a global network of music information centres and related organizations dedicated to the promotion, documentation, and development of music, with a special focus on contemporary, artistic, and traditional music production. Its members include leading institutions that shape music policy, maintain music archives and databases, and design cultural programs around the world.

Ložionica welcomed more than 20 music sector professionals from Europe, Asia, North and South America, who participated in panels, lectures, workshops, and open discussions, exchanging ideas and experiences on the current challenges and opportunities in the music industry. Topics included the role of digital technologies in music promotion, the importance of preserving musical heritage, innovative models of distribution, and strategies for strengthening intercultural collaboration.

Hosting this event in Belgrade positioned the Serbian capital as a new center of global cultural dialogue, while establishing Ložionica as a relevant space for international gatherings and strategic discussions on the future of the creative industries. The conference provided participants with the opportunity to connect with peers from across the world, gain new insights, and initiate future projects that contribute to the global growth of the music sector.

The IAMIC Conference in Ložionica is yet another example of how the venue, although still in its preopening phase, is already being successfully used to bring together both domestic and international stakeholders in the fields of arts, culture, and creative industries. Through events such as this, Ložionica continues to affirm its role as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking dialogue within the global creative ecosystem.
